Simple but fab skin and make-up

These are tips on skin care and makeup gathered from lots of different types of people, friends, myself included and you just have to find what works for you. I learnt something years ago; perfect skin equals perfect makeup but unfortunately there is no perfect skin but fortunately there are perfect solutions and there is flawless makeup. Each individual is different so naturally the skin care regimen will be different and honestly the drugstore type things are less complicated and usually work and the expensive things mess with your skin.

Let me start with types of skin, I have combination skin (note I didn’t say perfect skin but I’m pretty close!) and that is oily in some parts and dry in other areas. It is personally the hardest skin type to care for because of the obvious confusion of areas lol. But I also have sensitive skin so that has worked in my favor because I cannot use anything overly aggressive anyway so that helps with the combination/confusion. Try Aveeno gentle scrub once a week or any Aveeno product, love them! Or you can alternate between care for dry skin and oily skin and for really sensitive skin try Cetaphil.

Next skin type is dry skin. If you were born with dry skin, you might want to find a very good moisturizer for day and night and if you suddenly developed dry skin, check your cleanser. Using scrubs too often usually have a dual effect; they could either dry out your skin or make it super oily.

Oily skin is often associated with build up of a cleanser especially if it is cream based and as we all know build up of oil could lead to acne. I would suggest a mask or deep scrub once a week and change your cleanser and/or moisturizer to oil-free. If everything checks out just work with it until you find something that’s works for you, it does not happen overnight.

For the body, any Aveeno product or dove product. Most of the skin is usually covered up (except when we show off our legs!) so that’s why it is not as high maintenance as our face, neck and probably arms. Basically, any body cleanser would work but I love Bath and Body Works shower gels; they have soaps too that are wonderful if you don’t like shower gels. And for that head to toe glow, try a body scrub once a week, your bathing suit reflection will love you for it.

Makeup
There is this wonderful concealer stick by L’oreal. Concealers should be used to cover skin discoloration patches and also to highlight eyes because eye makeup looks great on a lighter base. The colors pop and it just looks better.

I’m not a foundation chic, tried it, not for me but if it works for you that’s cool too. The thing about foundation for me is the heaviness feel and if I did use it, I probably wouldn’t use it everyday.
Matching your exact color to your makeup powder can be very tricky, if you still haven’t found you match, try mixing two color lines where you obviously fall. For instance my sister could mix a 43 and 45 because 43 is a little too light on her and 45 is a little too dark. Black is beautiful and unique. With the different shades in this beautiful race, oftentimes makeup companies drop the ball in correctly identifying the undertones.

I am a gloss chic. Lipstick with gloss is awesome too. But to avoid looking like you had something shiny to eat at a job interview, go easy on the gloss or find a perfect shade lipstick for such demure situations.

More tips coming soon and ofcourse if you don't mind, you can share your personal beauty tips in the comment section, it just might enlight someone!

what are you using for acne? if nothing then you should probably try something. There are creams that contain salicylic acid which is a pretty effective acne treatment. hope this helps some.
