Fashion review - Encomium's Black and White Ball


It is very hard to go wrong with black. It is slimming, flattering on most figures and these ladies harnessed the positives. I particularly love the dress on the right, really cute and very appropriate for the event.



I love risk takers! Black and white ball with a little pink and she hits a homerun with this.




Actress Oge Okoye(right) looks lovely. I love the jewelry choice, simple yet elegant. Fab look.



Designer Data Okorodudu looks elegant in the white blouse and flowy skirt. fab look.


Designer Zizi Cadow looks beautiful in this stunning piece-probably from her collection. A different choice of shoes would have completed the look. However fab lady, fab outfit.


This stunning mini looks beautiful on model Isio Wanogho-Lovely Hair, nice gold clutch and gold accessories. I'm out on the shoes however.


The dress is a bit 80's but I'm all for vintage only where appropriate and i don't think this is appropriate for a ball and the hair is not really complementing. Either way beautiful lady, lovely skin.




I absolutely love Uche Jumbo but unfortunately she does not score any points with this piece. The sunglasses, jewelry and the shoes do not complement. Take them away and cinch the waist and it would have shown off her figure in a more flattering way.
Having said that, Uche still rocks as a fab lady and talented actress!

And for the men.
Governor Gbenga Daniel(middle) does a fabulous job of looking classic and well put together.




Dayo Adeneye pulls off a comfortable look in his suit and white bowtie.


To pull off the "sneakers n suit" look, I think you need to have swagger and confidence and I think singer Sunny Nneji kind of pulls it off. What do you think?



Finally, I think Segun Arinze pulls this off quite nicely and his wife looks very beautiful.

Chicago, Ghita and all things sweet!

Happy 4th of July!..a day after. I hope you did fill up on some good food/fireworks. Anyways I promised to return with a blog about Chicago and one of my favorite labels, Ghita by Alexis Phifer. Chicago I went to the Windy city to see one of my best friends and shout out to her for making sure I had a wonderful time. 1 star out of 5 for her..lol. If you have never been, you have to at some point. Wherever you are, out of the US, make it your stop on the way in; within the US, look for a cheap ticket on a weekend. What I did like about the place was the downtown scene, from the shopping street corners with designers like Coach, Armani, Louis Vuitton and more to the food....ah the food, the pizza was awesome, best ever and I am so not a pizza-eating person but they won me over! A lot of entertainment and a little confusion

Okay let me start this write up by saying I am a moderate fan of basketball and the reason I went from no-idea-what-the-rules-of-this-game-are to moderate fan is because some friends are huge fans and I often go to and watch a few games. A popular team is the Lakers so it is safe to say I know the faces of most of the team members and a few names in addition. I was familiar with who D.J. Mbenga was on court but not off court as in where he is from and all that including how funny he really is. Anyways I stumbled on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night and about 9 members of the L.A. Lakers team were on the show including Kobe, Fisher, Ariza, Gasol and Mbenga. At some point the whole team was ribbing Mbenga on his accent; thats no problem, infact it looked like the whole team was friendly with each other and you know how guys tease each other, it was fun to watch. Most of us who grew up in Nigeria remember the late activist and poet Ken Saro-Wiwa and the mystery surounding his execution along with 9 others in 1995.
